Here's my suggestion. When using a Scum Frog or Ribbitt I take the hook from one of my old H & H spinnerbaits. It only has two barbes on it and will slip right on the main hook and you can hook one barb into each leg. It doesn't affect the action of the frog and it's the right size for a trailer hook.

Good information here, can't tell you anymore than them...just make sure you have braid. It makes all the difference.
