Finally found "the pole" (telephone pole) down near the dam, near Rush Creek. It is unmarked and sticks up about 6" above the water line..... I turned around and marked the GPS coords. WIll post them tomorrow when I retrieve them from my unit. Nex time I go out there, I will tie a couple bleach bottles to it.. it could ruin someones day as it is about 10" in diameter.... I have been searching for it for awhile as I run wide open heading that way...:) \:\) \:\)

Will also send the coord's to Navionics to be put on the maps.

I wonder if there's anyway to get the lake authority to remove such a dangerous hazard or at least put a bouy on it?

Probably asking way too much....

with my luck, they will pound a piece of rebar inthe top of it... so I can whack another one!! T. Climer lost his lower unit today, it is in the bottom of Ray Hubbard... he did 3 360degree turns before the boat caught and soaked him.. he is ok... boat is missing parts.... \:\( \:\( \:\( Hate to see that.. that feeeling is miserable when major motor repairs are needed...

If that pole you mentioned is down by the dam then you still have several more to find.

There is a straight line of telephone poles that run east to west about 100 or 200 yards off of the dam. Most of the time they are under water but there are a few that stick up to the surface. I have'nt found them but a buddy did and was'nt to happy.

Let me know if these are the ones you are talking about.

havent found those... I didnt have a chance to pull the numbers... I will go look for those poles you mention with the side imaging graph to see if I can locate them and post the numbers as well.... I will be marking them all as danger icons in my unit. and sending the coords to Navionics.

Then if these are'nt them then is the one that you found near the Rush Creek jetty or out farther in the lake?

I have'nt seen one over in that area before and fish there alot.
I guess from now on I'll be taken it a little easier in that area.

Hey skeeterronnie I posted on here about a year ago with one of those posts that was back when the lake was down. I called the city of Dallas which put me in touch with the lake authority and beleive it or not they went out and pulled the pole. Someone posted about a line of them and I had heard that before I guess you found the next one call them they will come get it....I witnessed the Climer incident and don't think I want to see that again.....Thanks

Most of you know about the lost tree on hubbard down toward the dam but I was out there on Sunday and did not know of the telephone pole even closer to the dam. I have been through this area alot at night full throttle and glad I have never located it. Some one would be out for a big suprise If they even live through it.. On the 332map this area shows to be an old gravel pit. I plan on marking this next trip out with a stick of PVC and some reflector tape but you would think someone with TPWD could either pull it or some thing. It is one thing to have an obstuction in a stumpy area but not in the wide open Gulf of Hubbard. This is not a small pole either. How about that Heath ramp getting a little western in and out of there.....Fitz

The City of Dallas is the controlling authority for Ray Hubbard. The lake management office can be contacted at 214.670.8658. I know of the tree also, but never seen a telephone pole!

Ronnie, I found that pole on the 3rd when we were out prefishing. Told my partner about it and showed him this past weekend when fishing the open.

It is an ugly sight to see that thing just above the surface of the water. If there is any wind and chop on the lake, you almost can't find it unless you have it marked on your graph.

I have made many runs down the lake right there and never knew it was there until two weeks ago. I thought it was a floater when I first saw it so I turned around to take a better look at the object in the water. That is when I realized that it is still attached at the bottom and wasn't moving.

I should have this marked on my graph as well and will post the info if someone else doesn't before I get to it.

Anyone running Hubbard on that side of the lake, be careful if you don't konw where this obsticle is.

SkeeterRonnie post the gps coordinates of that hazard i beleive i past that one day but it was before i had gps. So it's been awhile i fish hubbard all the time and that would be nice to have in my unit and any other ones you or anybody else have. We all have to be safe out there. Hubbard can be a little decieving with all the open water and you find the insurance claim makers in the water.
