I always fake, real ones are too messy and my brother is severely allergic...
Miss I, I don't want you to think badly, but I just blew snuff all over my 'puter.
I saw the thread title, "Do Ya'll Fake it"
Then when I opened it up, your post was the last one on the second page, and your reply is what I saw first!
I didn't realize you were talking about Christmas Trees until I scrolled back to page one!
And you were gonna tell on me huh??

Ummmm...no. At the time just couldn't believe what I was reading, so started to look at the other replies. That is when I realized you were talking about Christmas Trees, not... um... TMI!
Well we've decided in this thread that you can get the same size in a fake one without the mess. So I say go for the big fake ones...

Stupid 14 foot tall pre-lite fake tree that takes all day to put up. I think this year I'll skip the tree. It's a beating. The wife already has a bunch of other decorations up. She could not wait for Thanksgiving.
Way to bring back a classic thread!

One year when the kids were real little I wasn't sure if we would have a tree at all. Times were that tough. I cut a tree out of a couple pieces poster board taped together. We made ornaments out of construction paper that the kids colored and decorated with glitter and stuff. We made a paper chain and a tinfoil star...It was so much fun. The kids were too little to be worried about it. They were excited that Santa would leave presents under the our "homemade" tree. As things turned out I got a real tree and the poster board one just hung on the wall. I kept that posterboard tree for many years as a reminder of what Christmas was really all about.

I prefer real, but I always misjudge the tree's size and end up with something like this...

One year I ended up with one that was marked as 7/8 foot tall (which would have worked), but it was a 9/10 foot tall tree that was over 9 feet across on one side...Fortunately we have a large living room to handle it, but I did have to move 2 of the recliners to the bedrooms...
dang it... wifey is making me go Christmas tree shopping today. It's not even Thanksgiving!!! We will be getting our first tree together and it will for sure be a fake one. Wayyy easier, and next year I will save a saturday afternoon for college football or fishing.

we have a pre-lit fake tree. it is not one of those cheap azz ones that you get at wal mart it was an expensive sum beioch that looks like a real tree with different bark and limbs and such. I hate real trees they drop those needles all over the place they are very expensive if you want a nice one, then the smell, ug.
So Fake for me, but I'll round up all the live ones after and make a brush pile.
