Will you please pass this along?
My wife’s Tahoe was stolen last Friday from the parking lot next to Brookshires in Wylie. (Dr Banders Office)
There has been no sign of it yet.

It is a Red, 4dr, Chevy, Tahoe, 4 wheel drive, the back of it has 2 side opening doors, it had a black grill guard on the front and had black tail light rock covers on the rear taillights, it has tan leather interior and the front drivers and passengers windows are not tinted. It’s a 1998 model and looks like it’s brand new. No dents or scratches, has brand new tires, they are one size larger than what it comes with from the factory. it has a 2 inch lift block under the back leaf springs to level the truck out. On the back it has a draw tight trailer hitch and to the left of that there is a 7 pin round trailer plug receiver.

This truck is paid for and the insurance company will probably bend us over on this one. This truck originally retailed for $41000 and they will probably only give us about 5 or 6 thousand for it. My wife loved this truck and is very upset about it. (It was her mothers before we bought it.)

Chances are it has new plates on it, it’s being sold for parts, or it’s on it’s way out of state, but please keep an eye out.
A witness saw 2 heavy set Hispanic Males in it prior to it driving off. We have video of it traveling South Bound on Hwy 78 towards Garland, it never entered the toll road.
They have probably taken the grill guard and tail light covers off but there will be small holes on the body where the sheet metal screws held the cover on for the tail lights.

There were several personal items in the vehicle, (papers, photos, phone numers etc...) if you find a bunch of papers or anything with my last name on it please conatct the Wylie PD and turn it in as found property. (it might help us find out who took the truck)

Thanks,
Randy Hooker

Just some advice

Do not settle until you are happy. I had a customized '83 F-150 that was totalled. The insurance adjuster started at 7200 I got them up to 8000 partly because they could not find a comparable vehicle. When they started to talk about fixing it I settled.

Sorry to here about your Tahoe. I had my truck stolen about 2 1/2 years ago. It is not a good feeling and it will piss you off.

I had my truck stolen several years ago. I only had liability insurance on it too....dumb idea. It was found, by me two years later beat to [censored], with 40k more miles. There is hope Hook. Bump for all those that forgot.

I'm sure you made a police report but follow up with them. I'm in Law Enforcement and used to work auto thefts as a detective. After entering the vehicle into NCIC as stolen I always got a delayed hit from the Border Patrol in South Texas. Yep, you guessed it. It was last seen heading into Mexico from the border check point cameras. The #1 vehicle going into Mexico was Chevy Tahoes. I worked one case where a vehicle was last seen at a certain time and by the time they realized it was stolen it had already crossed the border.
Good Luck
