Well, looks like the next time I head to Austin and the lake, I want to try the Hula Hut!
Whatever it was that we ate had a neat atmosphere, but the food wasn't all that good.

Dixie Diner in Texarkana best Hamburgers ive had in a while-- home made buns Real hamburger pattys all the fixins -- Chicken fried Steak so tender No KNIFE Needed , Was going to try the Pies but never could make room

tpack - Mary's CFS is the lick! If you hunt around there you can drive over to BJ's for a heck of a good pizza and a cold one!

nascar, that is right. Hard day of fishing on the lake, their margaritas are the ticket. This is how I do it up.  At the Salt Lick, I like the chef to show me the goods first.  awwwwww...mannnnnn...you're killin' me!!! mmmmmmmmmm

I tell ya what, If you ever venture north of the border...try the "Isle of Capri" just east of McAlester Oklahoma in the little town of Krebs. Order the rib-eye. It comes with ravioli and other treats which are to die for. McAlester was settled by Italian immigrants, and the food is fabulous!

tpack - Mary's CFS is the lick! If you hunt around there you can drive over to BJ's for a heck of a good pizza and a cold one! BJ's Brewery does some pretty decent beers, I especially like their nicely hopped pale ale, and their imperial stout.

we had a baseball tournament in Abilene one time, we ate at the Perini (sp?) steak ranch....GOOOD STEAK!

Biggest, coldest, freshest raw Appalachicola oysters (or steamed, if you prefer.
Then about a dozen or so of their steamed JUMBO shrimp (and I mean JUMBO).
Wash all that down with a mug or two of the coldest draft beer in Florida and you can truly say "I had a meal fit for a king!"
