10 miles or so north on the Mason Highway!

You just have to eat there to understand.
We ate family style...(4 of us).
Sourdough bread...Oysters Bruton...Fried Oysters...
Blackened shrimp with some kinda corn dish...Greek chicken...
Beef tenderloin that was about 3 inches thick with sauteed potatos...

MY GAWD!!!! MAKE YA SLAP YER GRANNY!!!!
washed it down with tall glasses of IPA...Indian Pale Ale. which is brewed in Blanco Texas. DEEEEE-LICIOUS!!

i gotta say the kings inn is not to shabby, we put in there, and comeing out of a days fishing we eat there, but after a days fishing me so hungry i could eat a chicken fried roof shingle

The Grotto, in Highland Village.

I can think of a few places where I've had an individual dish that was better, all over the country, and a few in England.

But the most consistently incredible food I've had each trip has to be The Grotto.

Killer sangria any kind of enchilada you could ever dream of and nice clean mountain air

There's a Babe's in Garland that has about as good-a fried chicken as I ever had.

Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood. Family style and BYOB. Goin there end of the month, dee-lish!

My three choices are odd I guess but its what I like-

1. Chipotle- best burrito I have ever had. I love the pork and the barbacoa.

2. Red, Hot and Blue BBQ- it reminds of Tennessee which is home. I love the Ramblin' Delat platter. Their pulled pork is beyond words. Best potato salad I have ever eaten and their ribs are pretty good.

3. Texas de Brazil- everyone should go just once. Went earlier this year for my 15th anniversary and it is now the special event choice for my wife and I. Food is awesome and love the atmosphere.

I remember you asking about TdB. Glad that you liked it. Last time we went (fathers day), it wasn't all that good. Hoping that we just caught them on an off day.

I have heard that Fogo de Chao and another one in Grapevine are supposed to be better than TdB. May try them someday.

I worked for a Brasilian company for about 6 years...
the food in Brasil was some of the best I ever had. Tejas de Brazil is very good. Haven't tried Fogo, but here it is good.

Gotta try that Red-White-and Blue.
