We went to the slip saturday and caught several blue gills!
we were shooting for catfish,no luck!
we started catching tons of bluegills with a salt water rig (sabiki rig).
me and my son had a blast!
I need to head out and do some pond hopping soon!

I'm gonna have to make it out to this bowie pond sometime. It's not a pond but has anyone fished the creek that runs through Cravens Park. I can walk out my back yard and fish it but just haven't done it yet.

I went out to Bowie this afternoon to take a look around. It was my first time. I've lived in Arlington all my life and did not know about this place. Is there any other access other than the road/path on the North end at the cement pipe? It looked like that small area is THE ONLY so called Bank Fishing. I don't have any type of water craft. I was thinking this would be a great float tube fishing place (which I have never done either)

You can access it on the other end of the pond also.. I have seen people walk around the whoel pond and fish it before..Wouldnt be to good for a tube not deep enough on the north half...but great in a yak..........

Hmmm. The other end? From what street? Walk around the whole pond? I never saw a break anywhere in that thicket. Is it just holding more water from all the rain? I really wouldn't want to trudge through any of that brush this summer. Mayyyybeeee, in winter.

OR....

I'm too old and soft for this pond fishin !!!!

Thanks for all your help. I found the south entrance and there is some bank area on that end. Now all I have to do is figure out how to negotiate in all the moss! Ah, such is life ;-)
