hey all!
On the way back from a college tour in Kansas, I saw the greenbelt at Denton chock-full of cars. This was one of the spots I've always wanted to fly fish and kayak on because from what I've heard it was a legendary fishing spot. Unfortunately, the log jams rendered it useless in that regard and the park was "temporarily" closed. That being said, do any of y'all know if the spots opened up yet and the log jam removed? how long does it take for a spot like this to recover to it's former glory after habitat destruction like this?
In the probable case it IS closed and won't recover, what are some similar large creek spots I can comfortably kayak and fly fish in? Creek panfish and whites if in season would be a splendid way to end the year-long hiatus I've been on (or at least it's felt that long.)
thanks all, and tight lines.

Read texasflycaster's ongoing battle on this subject in the Kayak section on Greenbelt Disaster, with very recent pics. IslandJim
