sorry for your lost

boy you have had a rough time with colon cancer in your family.

My mother had hers in her 70's. They caught it early because she was regular with the colonoscopy. She is now 98 and takes one or two pills a day.
My brother's daughters begged him for years and when he finally relented, it was too late.

You like a clear result, no cancer.

I have never been fearful of dying, I just don't want to go in pain.

I am still planning on get shot by a jealous husband. LOL

If I had a family history that would change my decision.

Do it.
Don’t fear the reaper…..but do what you can to keep up the good fight.
Colonoscopy is the easiest of all procedures. I know someone very well who had three benign polyps removed during the procedure and it was no big deal. After the procedure it feels like you just had the most relieving #2 of your life with a sparking clean backside.

Cologuard is better than nothing but to say FTW is silly. Cologuard does zero to prevent colon you could still have polyps that should be removed Cologuard does nothing in that scenario. My wife had her first colonoscopy at 50 they found a very large polyp and removed it during the procedure. She had to have a follow up colonoscopy a year later all fine. If she had done Cologuard that polyp would not have been discovered or removed and very possibly turned cancerous later on.

My advice for anyone is to get the colonoscopy the only downside is the prep you are asleep during the procedure and a bit of gas after.
