Got a deal on new tower and monitor for about 450.00 Tower is I7 1tb, major upgrade from what I have now.  So, ok, means you can post more. Just asking for a friend.

sure makes a difference in monitor readibility. just hooked up a new 24" samsung monitor and it beats heck out of the hp 20". just thought I would pass that on.  Mine's a 40".

I still prefer the desktop over the laptop. I don't have a need to take my computer with me any where.

This. Why would anybody use a desktop nowadays? because desktops can hold dedicated CAD video cards that won't fit a laptop.

We do 99% of web surfing on iPads but still have a desktop with a 24” monitor we use for some applications one being I have a detailed spreadsheet to track investments that is in Excel. I bought the desktop years ago from someone on here can’t remember the name. It is a mini HP desktop I paid him $100 (machine only no monitor or keyboard/mouse) he is in IT and they rotated their machines and sell the older ones. It has worked flawlessly for several years but Win 10 is all it can handle so eventually will have to be replaced and upgrade to a Win 11 machine. I am not opposed to laptops I had 2 company laptops before I retired just have no need for one much prefer the iPads with Apple keyboards for nearly everything we do especially web surfing.
