It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the sun coming up and no wind. Got one quick and thought it was going to be easy… My go to spots were not working.. again! Around noon I tie on a senko and backlash first cast, great, I’ll let it soak while I’m clearing birds nest… sure enough I have one on as I reel in slack.. just the info I didn’t want to know.. caught another one soon after before deciding this isn’t my type of fishing and back to throwing 5 inch swimbait . Cover a lot of water and getting frustrated.. Tie on 6 xd and try fishing the creek channel where I see some active fish… getting windy and I’m blown around trying to stay with fish and give up quick.. Back to beating the bank… finally found the fish! Stopped counting at 20, nothing over 3 lbs but it was unreal for a couple of hours and I left them biting as I had a long paddle back against the wind… It was so good I tried a frog… couldn’t buy a bite.. back to swimbait.. didn’t mater what color I threw … went through a lot of baits. Too tired to fish today.

Just unload and following the shoreline to the right.. when you get to as far as you can go keep going. Make a full stop at red light, proceed, when you get to caution light, proceed carefully.. but keep going... once you are here.. take a picture and pm me, and I will guide you the rest of way. PS... dont even attempt this without a 5 inch swimbait!

could hear frogs everywhere... thought for sure I could get bit with one as the bass were sometimes blasting my swimbait on top but only after my bait was coming up off bottom... I may never buy another frog in my life. swimbait for me... In my mind just a few inches under water will get more bites than on top, most of the time. I am trying to catch a damn fish, not see a blow up.

Is your transducer mounted inside the hull of your kayak? I have mine mounted in a ‘special scupper recess’ that actually fits my transducer almost perfectly… BUT it is slightly below the keel line of my kayak by maybe a quarter inch. Maybe if I installed a piece of Keel Shield over it to keep it from being hung up on a log??? JR

I throw a 5 inch swimbait 90 percent of the time… the other 10% is everything else when I can’t get bit… I carry all of these other baits and tackle boxes that I rarely open and just take up too much room.. it’s easier to throw swimbaits only in east Texas where you can choose to fish lakes with grass or Lilli pads all year round.. just make life much more simple to me… The new Game Over color of ignite baits was awesome! Was saving them for lake of the pines but couldn’t resist using them at Naconiche… was using colors I had never tried and it didn’t matter much..
