Those are good size stocking fish also. Should have a good survival rate

Looks to me like it was Bass Champs releasing the tournaments caught fish. It's not a stocking program.

Wonder how many of that 2200 pounds went straight to the bottom of the lake?

Wonder how many of that 2200 pounds went straight to the bottom of the lake? I bet not many if they have a good oxygen trailer and someone that knows how to fizz fish. TPWD had their live release trailer and head conservation guy at a summer tournament I was at a year or so back. Pretty interesting since you can see the fish in their trailer. It's amazing how active and ready to go those fish were when released. I've heard people say that the bass just get amped up on all the added oxygen like a drug then die once they get in the lake. I find that really hard to believe after seeing it with my own eyes. There were a few fish that day that were not doing well. After fizzing and about an hour of time in the tank, you couldn't tell which ones they were. I flat out asked him what he thought their survival chance was. He said if they get back active in this tank, their chance at survival is 99%+. I tend to believe him.

Wonder how many of that 2200 pounds went straight to the bottom of the lake? This time of year water is cool and they weren't caught very deep, there are always a few but I suspect the majority will be fine

I'm not sold at all on the fizzing of bass. It's not like catching a red snapper.
