I will step out into my back yard and watch.

We plan to drive down to Ennis and spend the day at my daughters home.

I don't really care to see it, my wife wants too. I think she even ordered some of those glasses from Amazon.

Plans are stop working for 10 minutes, go to back yard and watch it, then get back to work.

We had planned to go see it in the hill country but all Airbnb prices are through the roof. Regular hotels want 500 a night. I will observe it from my house in Fort Bend County.

Hell yeah!! Cut their head off and put it on a pole and throw their body down a well with some gold. To ward off the evil spirits and let the sun return. If you do it real fast, like less than 4 minutes, it will seem to actually work!

I’m going to find a bunch of Indians and tell them I’m about to turn off the sun if they don’t give me all of their gold. When they laugh and me, I’m going to do the most sinister laugh I can muster and tell them they have been warned. Then I’m coming back home with my Equinox loaded with gold.

No plans yet... too far off in the future, will decide a day or so before, when I can get a feel for how many folks will be invading the area.

Our town is supposedly dead center. Rumors in town are that we are expecting thousands coming here. It all seems nuts to me, that we will have most businesses closed, schools closed, on and on.

I know one thing I won't do, is look at it with these flimsy cheap Chinese glasses sold in gas stations. I don't care what kind of "certifications" are printed on them. I'll see it on TV afterwards, if it isn't cloudy.

Headed to Texas to visit my Mom and our son and see it while there. Get in a little hog hunting too.

I don't care if it rains and we miss it as long as it is warm down there, and chiggers aren't out yet.

It's not going to matter if it's rainy or cloudy.

Working outside or inside?


Working outside doesn't count for the negatives.

I'm outside and inside and driving most of my days. Not being negative but work doesn't stop just because there is an eclipse.

Not sure if I'd have a better view from my apt in LasColinas or my Rv at Fork..hmmmmmm It's only 3-4 minutes tops.

Reports of National Guard being deployed. For an eclipse. Strong indication that it's going to be wild.

I'm not excited by the media hype. MSM has turned it into a natural disaster rather than a scientific phenomenon. I went to the ERCOT site this morning expecting to see something 'news' related and there is very little to nothing. Every news outlet has a story related to it however.

Quit listening to the media.

This map shows how wide the viewing angle is. It kind of surprised me how wide it is.
Being in the middle gives you a little longer look see but the whole metroplex is supposed to see the total eclipse by this map. 90% appears to be Odessa on the west and around Lake Charles on the east side.

Supposed to meet with customers in Corpus Christi on the 8th

Greenville is in the path of totality. I have been hearing that the Greenville/Hunt County area is going to have an influx of 100,000 people.
Every hotel room has been booked and some are going for $500.00 a night. I hope people did some research because the crack hotels are fully booked.
A friend of a friend said they have family coming in to stay with them. Flying into D/FW but a three day car rental is going to be $1,400.00.
I'm going to stock up on groceries and stay at home.
Traffic is going to suck

Working but our company is providing a catered lunch and eclipse glasses for everyone to go outside and get paid to watch it.

Was mind blown to hear the city of Waxahachie is not allowing any workers on job sites on eclipse day. No private or commercial workers period. We’re not even allowed to haul any loads to any jobs within the city limits. Hearing talk of 287 being closed…

I suggest you try out those paper glasses. The better half has three of them.
