Is there a good seafood restaurant in or even close to Ft. Worth? I am looking for someplace that has more than fried items on the menu and is reasonably priced.
I enjoy a seafood platter that consists of some blackened snapper (or similar) and some grilled shrimp along with some sides. Mmmm....
Hear alot about Rockfish on Hulen. Tried that and it was horrible!
Red Lobster, well, what can I say? Typical chain quaility. A step above Long John Silvers.
Pappadauex (sp), been there once. Was good, but wasn't all that impressed. If I remember right, it was mostly fried.

Pappadeaux's is alittle farther in Bedford. 121 and Central. Probably the best in the area for real seafood. The soft shell crab is out of this world.

You might want to try Daddy Jacks in downtown Fort Worth. I opened that store 6 years ago. Very good food. Nothing fried. Awesome seafood. At my restaurant in Weatherford I have Blackened Tilapia with a lemon butter cream sauce. I also have Pecan Crusted Rainbow Trout with a Jalapeno Cream, and Grilled Shrimp with a Cilantro Garlic Butter. I do Fish Features all the time according to what I can get in the freshest. If you want to do Fort Worth, Daddy Jacks is your place. Its on the corner of Third and Throckmorton. Let me know how it works out!

Just tried Flying Fish (new place across the street from Railhead)and it was pretty good. I tried the fried catfish, but they have a lot of grilled fish, and the prices were pretty reasonable.

See, thats just it... Everyone says they like Rockfish.
We went to the one on Hulen St. If I remember correctly, the three of us ordered a sampler type appetizer along with our meals. My wife liked some of the appetizer, but I didn't care for any of it. Just didn't taste good.
I don't remember what my son or I ordered, but I remember he hated his meal (he was about 10 years old though) but I remember mine was very bland, was not firm and flakey like fish should be and was very watery. I am assuming that mine was under cooked.
My wife ordered the pecan crusted trout (I think) and she had the same compliant.
The service was bad as well.
We complained, but all we got was "sorry" from the server. No manager visit or anything. I emailed Rockfish and don't remember ever getting a reply back.
As far as I am concerned, the food and customer service sucked!

We always eat at the one in Arlington. Every visit we've had there a manager came by the table to see how everything was and just to visit for a little bit. I've gotten he pecan crusted trout several times and it was always good. They also have fried pickles there which has officially made it one of my wife's favorite restraunts.

Does anyone know if "Shrimpers" is still open on N. University drive? It used to be a good place to eat seafood, it was better than Red Lobster back then, I have not been there in 4-5 years though!

You need to go to Dallas if you want good seafood. Try Chamberlains, Sea Dogs and Fish house

It's probably going to kill me one day, but if there's one thing I know how to do well it's eat. Now, I don't eat a lot of seafood being that we're not anywhere near the coast, but I'd have to second Ernie's in Bedford. It's great.
I also like it b/c it's independently owned and operated. We can't get enough of that in this country, and should do all we can to support it. No knocking razoos or rockfish, but I'm sick of everything being the same everwhere I go. I have to physically search out places where my money won't go to some mega corporate conglomerate.

Check out Fish Creek in Willow Park. Same owners as Catfish & Company in Hurst. Also, Bonnell's on Bryant Irvin does a good job a little more upscale

That one is good. That is the only one that I have tried that was good. Joes has a dish called Shrimp Friadiablo (sp) that is really good. 10 huge shrimp with some pasta in a real spicey sauce. I love that stuff!

As far as I am concerned, the food and customer service sucked! It goes to show how much a manager can make or break your dining experience. I was not impressed last time I was there either.
