I live in the typical DFW neighborhood with houses built very close together. Between the houses towards the back is basically a dirt spot. Lots of shade. I've tried to plant some bermuda from seed but it didn't take. I'd like to give one more shot at grass before I make it a gravel walkway.

From what I can tell, fescue, st augustine and zoysia are the best shade grasses. Please let me know your thoughts.

My lawn is bermuda, but I am not opposed to blending something else in on the side.

Of the 3 if that area gets any sun I would go with St Aug.

I would go with St. Augustine sod in the shade. It will eventually take-over the Bermuda.

Got to get Palmetto St. Augustine if it's real shady. Raliegh won't make it.

And greedily devour the treacherous bait.
