I have never seen crappie do this before in my life. Have you seen this before on your local lake?

your buddy. asked why they were doing what they were doing. I have seen this several times and what it may be, is that in winter, typically there isnt as many large schools of shad that roam by the million up and down the lake where crappie are set up on brush and trees, bridge pilings, ect, just sitting there waiting for a school of baitfish to come by so they can ambush them, as the schools of baitfish get smaller , the crappie leave the cover and structure to pursue these smaller less dense schools of shad. crappie have instincts to know, that when the baitfish is not coming to them to dine in, they have to leave and dine out The absence of fish on most of the brush you guys checked, kind of led you to trying something different and you recognized a pattern.. it wasnt just a fluke thing, if you ride around the lake, scanning for schools of baitfish that are broken up, with your side imaging, then key in on them with your livescope, your going to find this same situation fairly frequently.. larger species like largemouth bass , large white bass, big catfish , ect are doing the same thing, but they tend to pursue larger shad. maybe next time out, try focusing on this pattern only, forget abt crappie that are relating to cover, just concentrate on finding roaming crappie, that are following baitfish around. I think it would be great content for a vid.. show the entire process, do something different, show the failures as well as success. most folks are just posting vids showing when they are catching the fish, and putting them in the livewell. wash, rinse , repeat.. Folks who want to learn the intricacies of the sport get very little from this. I unsubcribed from several channels due to the incessant promoting of products, and same old boring "watch me catch this fish" content on my joe blow jig and my boneduck rod.. with the 6 lb test wonderline.. I really enjoyed your vid, and hope to see more like it...

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
