Has anyone come up with a great way to store the battery and all the wires for a fish finder while on the water? I have a Native Slayer with the center console that has track where I like my fish finder to sit, but the coil of wire from the transducer along with the clutter of a battery and power cable is a bit of an eye sore, as well as annoying when laying down rods, handling fish, etc. Looking for any good DIY projects that have most of the clutter contained and out of the way.

I have a Slayer 14.5.. only used it a couple of times as I was trying to figure out where to run wires as well... ended up putting scupper plugs in front hatch and getting the hard hatch cover... then putting the battery and wires there. Much easier for me than taking out the 4 screws that hold the cover on storage area under console. I put the transducer on a removable pvc arm I made that fits into a scotty mount attached to track, as far forward as track goes... my other Native Manta Rays have the same track and scotty mounts and I can more easily switch it (transducer and arm) and graph from one kayak to two other ones that I have rigged similarly. Im not worried about the hatch cover taking on water as if waters gets that bad I can easily disconnect and throw everything in front hatch and have close to watertight seal. I carry my kayaks upside down on top of my car so being able to take that stuff off easily is why I went that route.. If you trailer yours and never put it upside down you might find a way to run battery and wiring through the wall of console storage.. but you will still have to unscrew it to charge your battery unless they make something you could mount thru console wall that would give you access. Manta Ray14 Slayer 14.5. I was just trying to see how much wire I would need outside the hatch. The hatch cover on Slayer is held on with bungee so its not going anywhere.

Oh I like that idea, I’ve wanted to get the front hatch for a while but haven’t really had a way to justify the purchase. Do you happen to have a picture of the wires running under the hatch to the fish finder? Do you just run the wires under and have a gap between cover and kayak? I love my slayer but the only complaint I have is with the center console. I wish they had a design more like on the wilderness ride 115x with removable console that you could attach transducer on bottom and battery inside a removable box.

Don’t have a picture of it under the hatch but that cover is awesome.. I think I ordered it through Mariner Sales.. have thought about notching out lip so hatch would fit flush with wires coming out but haven’t gotten around to it.. plenty of room in hatch where I can keep all the power wires away from transducer wires in case that degrades signal..
