I would agree with that. The big ones are definitely still there, the fishing has just gotten really bad. It is back to fishing like the old Ivie, which is the Ivie I grew up fishing. We went through a good period during the 90's when a 9 and a half pound fish wouldn't even draw a check in the KEAN or KGKL tournies, and then around 2005 ish the lake started dropping and catching fish got tough. I like it when it is lower myself.

I said I'd let you know how bad it sucks so here goes. Caught my first ever keeper Smallmouth from that lake today. It and 2 under's for a grand total of 5.34# got me a check.

Yeah....sounds like feast or famine Ivie. We got Dalton Smith for half a day on my boat to coach FFS so maybe he can help us find a few but even he said its been tough lately.

It is bad. Take all the pressure Ivie has gotten over the past 3-4 years, add in the declining lake levels, and she is back to fishing like she did back in the early to mid 2000's. It is a double edge sword. On one hand I want the businesses to thrive and do well, and on the other I really liked how it was fishing before all the folks started showing up and hauling every 7+ pounder they caught up to the stores for a photo. We have seen the amount of people showing up to fish gradually drop, but during the first 6 months of the year those poor fish get hammered on. The only thing saving our spawns is the fact that we still have a ton of cover for them to hide in. Not throwing shade at anyone, but when you have a particular group that only shows up March - May to smack every spawning fish they can, it doesn't help the situation.

All their waypoints are on dry ground. They may come this spring but I bet they don’t stay long.

Sugar Lake in Mexico is where it’s at now, guy caught 2 - 11 pounders in a tournament and still didn’t win. Only 1 downfall….Mexico. We need to get all the traveling lake rapers to head on down to Ol’ Mexíco

So what lake will the traveling circus lake rapers crush next year? Choke is dead, Ivie is toast, Falcon and Amistad are meh…., Guess it will be a new victim???? Sounded like JB Thomas started to be there victim this summer, guess they can burn that one to the ground.
