Has anyone fished it lately? We fished it Saturday around Cuero.
The Guadalupe is a pretty river with big beautiful Cypress trees along the bank.

Looking down at it from the bridge the river looks really deep. We couldn't get the boat in the water fast enough. We launched and headed down stream. We went down 1/2 a mile then the trolling motor started hitting bottom. The water is so murky you can't see how deep it is. So Leo stuck his fishing pole in the water , it was 2ft deep.
We turned around and fished upstream.
We caught 2 gasper gou, 2 buffalo, little rio, small lmbs and a blue cat.

The catfish put up a good fight , dragging the boat upstream 75 yrds. Faught him till he got tired. Then Leo helped me put him in the boat. He measured 26 1/2in

Solid post with solid fish. Awesome Job. rockon

Side Note: I fish the Guadalupe River a lot. The areas I fish on the Guadalupe are in the Hill Country, New Braunfels, and Seguin. The river has some good quality fish. Plenty of nice sunfish. thumb

NICE ! I grew up on the Guadalupe & fished it a lot in my youth. You were cool, calm & collected bringing that bad boy to the boat...congrats.

Thank you Chuck!

Is the Guadalupe clearer where you fish?

I'll bet all the fish in the Guadalupe knew when you were fishing!
I usually stay pretty calm ๐Ÿ˜Š. Thanks Vogey for the reply!

Gotta love a day on the river. If I am given a choice I will fish moving water every time.

Great post Pot licker
I have a place on the Guadalupe about 10 mi. north of Cuero. Fished it growing up and still do. I've caught rios, gar, white bass and all kinds of catfish. Loved setting out throw lines in our little jon boat with 6hp motor.

You two are awesome! Super nice blue especially on an ultralite spincast and jig! I have not bought a fishing license since year before last for combination of reasons including health, heat, drought, a long visit from from my expatriate daughter and nursing my little pooch as long as I could. I may get one next week, most of the above is improved or over. Yesenia motivated me think I will break out the float tube and give it a try.
