Hey guys, I saw this posted on dallaswakeboarding.com and just thought I would let you know. If it was in fact a supra, you should check with Waterski Boats Dallas over in Lewisville. They are the supra dealer locally.

It is extremely upsetting that some idiot would have hit your boat to begin with, but then to run is just plain cowardice. I am glad you and your kids are ok, but you are correct, this guy needs to be found ASAP. I know this doesn't help the already tense relationship between fisherman and wakeboarders. We are all out there trying to enjoy the water in our own way, and I can't speak for everyone, but I will do my part to be respectful of all other people/boats out there and I can only hope that the kindness will spread.

Best of luck to you and your kids, and I do hope you find the guy that hit you.

pm sent to peejtrav32.

The road where I saw the boat yesterday runs from the Pier 121 showroom back towards the marina, a boat open storage parking area, and the repair shops(?) <-- don't know for sure about the last item, haven't looked that closely.

In hindsight, I should have left Easthill park right then, and gone over to the Pier 121 entrance to see if I could have seen where he took the boat. But, I was in the middle of a conversation with the gate attendant, I wasn't that sure about the match (until later when I re-looked at the photos), and well, if wishes were horses ...

A quick note to let you all know that I have read as many PM's as I can & try to answer as many as I can. I have read a ton! I am still in contact with the Police & Game Wardens. Information from this site has been passed on & I will be called as soon as anything pans out. Still wearing the blue cast so wave if you see me!!

Thanks again!

I got a call Sunday & was told that a Game Warden had found a boat matching my description & damage on Lewisville. It had two males & a female on board. The boat actually belonged to the father of one of the boys & he was also contacted. The father confirmed that his son was out on Hubbard the day of the acident but the kid is saying it was not him. The father also said that the boat had no damage as far as he knew until that day. I should get another call today after they do a few more interviews to see what turns up.

Awesome! I've been following this thread with hopes that someone would fing this little punk. So glad y'all were OK. That is the primary thing. But a close second was catching the little prick that did this.
Keep us posted as to the results.

Fantastic. I hope they throw the book at him especially since he left the scene of the accident. He could have easily killed you and your child. Keep us updated.

Paul,

Are they taking any samples from the damaged area of the boat to check for a paint match or anything like that? You might need that to avoid a 'he said, she said' situation. Glad to hear you are making progress.

Is it possible to tell if a boat has been repaired? I mean proffesionally repaired. It's been long enough that the damage could have been repaired and I don't know if the damaged area would stick out.

This is looking very promising for a "catch". I surely hope so. At least the dad did speak up about the son being on RH and the boat not previously damaged to his knowledge.

Since Lewisville is definitely more difficult to launch than RH at this time, the operator apparently didn't want to risk returning to RH in my opinion.

Good luck with getting this fully resolved. I am glad your family was not physically hurt and I wish you the best with getting the children over the emotional baggage something like this causes. There are some good life lessons to be learned with this incident.

I had an officer at my house. He took the cover to my motor with him. The dad has pretty much said it had to be his son, they are just trying to get the kid to admit it. The police said since they have three people to talk to, one of them usually gives in. I also get my cast off Wednesday & get to switch to a soft cast!

This is absolutely awesome news. People like this need to be held accountable.

An accident is an accident and that's why they call them accidents. Take responsibility for your actions.

It's also good to see that the dad may be trying to sway his son into doing the right thing now. Better late than never and hopefully a lesson will be learned. Not only for the guy who hit you, but also for everyone else around him.

It's always better to be up front and take responsibilities for your actions right off the bat than to have the bat come back and hit you in the noggin. thumb

I just got done talking with the police from Lewisville & they got a confession! All three have admited to what happened & tell the same story. The driver said he got freaked out so he just left! That is about all the info I can give. Now starts the process of fixing my boat.

A big thank you for everyone here & the wakeboard forum for all the effort! You guys & gals truly are a great bunch of folks!!
