are there any mirror carp in Texas lakes? how big do they get?

Yeah, there are Mirror Carp in Texas lakes, but they are usually very rare. Much rarer in the USA in general then they are in Europe where carp are bred and stocked as a sportfish...actually, as THE sportfish lol.

As for how big they get, well, they'll get as big as any other Common Carp. Mirrors are exactly the same fish as Common Carp, they just have a gene which causes unusual scale patterns.

TexasEnglishman's recently posted Mirrors? Nope, those were actually Texas fish as well.

Which is surprising, because you're right, they really have that fat, over-fed European fish look to them. Still gorgeous mirrors though.

yall that was them a couple of 20's very fat looking fish thanks for the info my tourament season is almost over with until our championship i am going to target some of those monsters in the down time

those are some amazing looking fish texasenglishman i would have liked to have some of the weight at a couple of tournaments this year would have been big fish by along way

Starless, for this photo, are you sure that you didn't just glue together the front two-thirds of one fish and the back two-thirds of another fish?
