Looking for waterfront cabins with privacy on any lake within 2 1/2 hours of DFW. Clean and nice one your wife would go to. Any suggestions would be great.

Proably a little over the drive time you're wanting, but the best I've stayed at were at Fayette County Resevoir. Those cabins are awesome!! It's a power plant lake, so keep it in mind when it gets cool again.

When a simular post came up awhile back someone had mentioned Hugo Lake Sate Park in OK. I took the wife and kid there and it was great. The cabins were very clean and nice and they all overlook the lake. Just make sure you get a "resort" one and not the "primative".

http://hugolakestatepark.com/

The ONLY faults that I didnt like were that there is minimal lake access near the cabins and not many places to eat, so bring your own food.

Wife and I stayed here a few years ago and it was nice. Not on a reservoir but it is on a small private lake. Caught some nice fish there and the accomodations were very nice. http://www.plumlake.com/plum_lake.htm

Here is another one. http://www.deerlakecabins.com/. I have never stayed there but have heard good things from friends that had stayed there a few years ago.

Check this one out on Cedar Creek:

http://www.caneycove.com/

Pulled in some nice blues from there. They have a dock and the guy that runs the place told me they brush it up pretty good in the fall. I seen this guy pull ALOT of crappie out from under it. I went to catfish so I didn't bother..

There used to be (late '70's) some really good fish in lake Hugo. That was the first lake I ever fished in. It's also the first lake that I lost a rod and reel in.. Same trip. Go figure. My Granpda had to have been mad at me losing his best rod and reel, but he never showed it.

Hi Getreel,
My wife and I have 2 cabins at Lake Texoma that might be just what you're looking for. They are located just outside Cedar Bayou Marina and right on Beautiful Cross Timbers Hiking Trail.
Take a look!
Thanks,

Believe it or not, some of the best kept secrets are the state parks in LA. All of the state parks have cabins that are air conditioned and many have those same cabins have thier own boat docks. Think the basic cabins run 70 bucks a night.
