I sprayed today. 2,4,D and Sertay for some Poa that popped up.

Do you get good results with Sertay on Poa? I have it but have never used it on Poa yet, only on Sedges.

2nd year to use it on Poa. Happy with the results so far. It`s slow acting just like everything else, but the Poa starts yellowing and slowly disappears. Most of the Poa is around the parameter/edge of the lawn and a few scattered here and there. You think I'd learn to apply the preemergent heavier around the parameter since it`s the worst spot every year.

I honestly forgot it was labeled for it until you mentioned it. I'll have to remember to try it on my neighbors lawn next year. He's got a bunch.

Dumb question of the day - what is Poa? Guessing it's not Power of Attorney.

IMO. It's a complete waste of time and money. Yes, you'll get a better oxygen exchange until the holes fill back in, which is shorty after a heavy rain. In our heavy clay soils one of the only times to do it is if you're going to top dress(backfill those holes with sand) It's more of a northern thing with overseeding. I've done it once a few years ago and it was a waste of time and it did nothing. It has it's places but if you live in the DFW and a lot of TX it's not needed. It might make you feel good that you did it, but at the end of the day it did nothing, and feel good is how most products/processes are sold nowadays.

Iโ€™ve already sprayed Spectracide once.

This for the most part and you're good(yellow or orange).depending on your turf type. I wouldn't apply Image that has the Poa pic on the front label. Make sure to get on a pre emergent program.

That is a banger price. Going to check mine tomorrow. If they have it at that price, I'll buy all of it.

Sometimes it's nice to feel good!! Going to give it a try and rent one from HD. Going to split the cost with a friend that lives nearby.

Finally got my yard scalped this morning. It was a chore since the ground was still wet, but I pushed through it...literally!

Here`s my soil test results from 2022 and 2024......Been applying Elemental Sulphur the past 2 years @ a rate of 5 lbs. per 1000 in attempt to lower my PH. Only made 2 applications last year since I was unable to procure any ES after July, but I did make 5 applications over the course of the 2-growing season for a combine total of 25 lbs. per 1000 sq. ft. Also applied 50 lbs. of 18-24-6 on April 1 each year for the P and K source. The main source of fertilizer was Ammonium Sulphate at the average rate of 2.5 lbs. per 1000 or .5 lbs. of actual nitrogen ever 4 weeks x 6(5-1 thru 10-1). Thats roughly 4 pounds of N (plus grass clippings), 0.9 lbs. of P and 0.3 lbs. of K each growing season, if my math is correct. Kind of surprised that the PH # didn`t change at all though confused 3 . I`m still very happy with how the lawn looked the last 2 season during the high temps and drought conditions. The response to the AS was very good in regards to color. In all, it cost me about 325 bucks in Elemental Sulphur and soil test to find out that the Ph # is very hard to move and that you can still grow very nice Bermuda grass in crappy spoils with the proper watering, sufficient amounts of N and mowing often.

I guess the old adage still stands true. If it works, don`t fix it.

Fosho. If what you're doing is working and you like the results, then keep doing it.
