I bought one of the very first Ford Lightnings available in 93. I bought through DougStanley Ford when Car And Driver magazine was done testing it. They tested the truck all around the area where I live and even wrote about eating Chicken Fried Steak at the restaurant near by....Rockett Cafe. Those were the days.
Sad thing? My wifes Thunderbird SC, also a 93, would bury my Lightning from a dead stop, roll, highway, any way we tried it. It would P me off so bad! Shed leave me in the dust every time.

They have the incorrect times for the 17'-18' Raptors. The super cabs do 0-60 in 5.2 sec and the crew cabs are 5.3 seconds. Trying to talk mama into a MPT tuner for Christmas. It will knock it down to 4.4 seconds.
My neighbor has a Grand National looks brand new under cover in his shop with low miles on it....
Remember watching some frat boy in College Station bet $1000 one night that my buddy's "little black Buick" couldn't hang with the Saleen Mustang his daddy bought him........then we watched that Grand National cost him $1000....it wasn't even close.....twice!!!
I have the 6.2 Denali and it's fun....but best thing is it's much better on gas than my other Silverado with the 5.3. Buddy has a Raptor and we've been lucky a few times to NOT get tickets
I have a 2018 F-150 with a 5.0. It runs like a race truck. I've only floor boarded it once but when I did it went from 10 MPH to 80 MPH in a hurry. It's fast and gets 19.6 around town and 23 on the road. I love my truck.

I had a 92 ranger 5 speed in high school. 1st and 2nd gear in that light weight truck was surprisingly quick. A guy in town built a 5 liter super charged ranger and it was quick. Last I herd, he put slicks on it and when he finally hooked up, it twisted his frame.
I had an 82 SWB chevy that had a mildly built 350 in it with a turbo 350 behind it. Top speed was 105, but it got there quickly. I sure miss that thing, though my duramax is much faster, it doesn't have the same feel as hearing that little truck rumble
