Well if its all about winning now, I'm all for it. If he plays like he has in the past and shows some leadership in the locker room as a former ProBowler, it could be just what the offense needs to make everyone look better. If it doesn't help then maybe JJ sees the problem with the coaching and we get a change next year. Win/win in my mind. cheers

You can add 1-2 more 1st rounders if he trades Carr before the deadline in a week or so

Raiders are rebuilding. Gruden has been handed the keys. But why would an owner do that? Let a football guy make his team?..... nah. Thats crazy.

That's a pretty nice thing to look forward to, especially with the bad year they're having.

Another questionable trade by Jerry...Coop was a one year wonder. Crabtree had a great run with the Raiders, so Carr wasn't the problem.
Jerry is the modern day Al Davis!. Kinda ironic that the trade was with the Raiders.
Someone tell me how Coop is gonna help this team get to a S.B? Last I heard he was in concussion protocall.
A good T.E. or O-lineman would have made more sense than another inconsistant wr.

The tff cowboy police are worrying about this trade? Doesnt this just add more talent to the most talented team in the nfl? Talent wins, good gms find good talent.Way to go Jones's. Remember they are way smarter than we common fans are.

This trade should push us past the 7-0 LA Rams talent wise.

Don't hate it but I don't think it works for this year either. I agree with Happykamper it only leaves one of two things if it doesn't help. Jason or Dak.

Cooper is 24 years old and two time pro bowler. We all just watched Cole Hamels mail it in because he didn't want to be in Texas. Probably far better than we can get in the draft and its the position that needs the most help. We already know Dez wasn't working in this system with this QB. Glad they went a different direction.

Sure, I would have loved to have gotten Cooper with a 2nd round pick or lower, but here are a couple of points:

a) This offense sorely needs improvement at receiver. Cooper will be an improvement.
b) Cooper is only 24. If he can return to early form, he could have a long productive career still ahead of him. His talent is still there.
c) Cowboys would have likely used the 1st round pick next year on receiver, and next year's receiver draft class is weak. So you would have over-drafted for the opportunity to develop a rookie which takes 2-3 years typically and is never a sure thing.

I'm not saying the move is bound to work, but for all of the reasons above, I'm not angry about it. Again, I think Cooper is probably worth a 2nd round pick, but that might not have been what the market was dictating. And for those saying that the Cowboys could have gotten Gordon for nothing, we're talking about the same Gordon that has spent most of his career suspended right? He might truly resurrect his career in New England and never be trouble again, but Dallas doesn't have Belichick, Brady, or the culture of New England. To expect Gordon to stay out of trouble in Dallas would be naive.

He is young and good. Anybody know what Wideout they would have got with that pick next draft? Obviously their biggest need. Gill Brandt says great move. That is good enough for me.
