Whenever we would say something about getting hurt, Dad would say "I've had worse places than that on my eyeball". I would say the same thing to my boys. Now, after getting a shot in my eye to treat macular endema, I can really say that.

I'm starting to think we all had the same parents based on these post, 
I am a Senager. (Senior teenager) I have everything that I wanted as a teenager, only 50 years later. I get an allowance every month. I have PU truck and a bass boat, I am blessed.
Conscience never acquits, it either accuses or excuses.

Most of the time my dad didn't have to say a word to me and my brother, he would just tilt his head down and point his finger at us. That meant, I'm fixin to beat holes in them jeans. We believed him too. It's called child abuse now, back then it was called a whuppin.

Dad use to call us numb nuts and knot heads. Mom called me the flower child of the family. I was the oldest of 6. There is a middle aged derilect in the neighborhood that I nicknamed numb nuts because that is what my dad would have called him. Neighbor and I have to be careful around his friends because we have almost forgotten his real name.
