www.amistadbass.comWater Level: Full Pool 1117.00 10/01/18 - Water level 32.66 ft low 9/12/18 - Water level 35.25 ft low 9/05/18 - Water Level 37.68 ft low Water Temp: Upper 70's RAMPS: BlackBrush CLOSED... Diablo, Air Force, Box, and Rough, are open. Amistad is still on the rise thanks to the much needed rain however gates are slightly open and water continues to flow toward Falcon. The rise has covered a lot of the grass that was matted on the surface just a week or two ago. The combination of North winds and cool rain have dropped the water temp several degrees. The fish are still scattered as is the bait. Youll see schools of small bait on the surface around most grassy areas and also on your graph 40-50ft. Several creeks are muddy and floating cane is present in both the Rio and the Devils. I have a few small areas that have been consistently producing fish. Bait and current is the key. Saturdays guide trip was fun with a mixed bag of stripers, largemouth, and smallmouth. We caught fish on topwater, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, Tx rig craws, and a Ned rig... On Saturday 17.90 (5 fish) won the Tx Fishing League tourney (44 boats). 2nd was 13.45. 5th was 10.63. A 6.26 was the big fish caught by the 1st place team. The Fall bite will be on soon. Please let me know if I can help (830) 768-3648. Thanks, Stan

Thanks.. Before all the rain Millers looked like a football field. The entire back was matted grass.. Lots of bait in the narrows before you hit the grass also..

Stan, I enjoy reading your posts from Amistad. Just moved to the Austin area and have never been there, but it's on my list. Hope to book you with a trip before it gets cold! Thanks!! Keep em coming!!

Thanks! I’m ready when you are... Fall fishing is exciting on Amistad. Fish are usually schooling and several techniques will work from topwater to spoons. Winter isnt bad other than the day of a North wind. Spoons, jigs, dropshots, spinnerbaits, and more will usually work.. One of my favorite techniques, large heavy swimbaits, can be awesome in Fall and Winter when conditions are right.. avoid the Austin traffic and come on over! Thanks again..
