This reminds me of Canyon back in 2002 when it went over the spillway but this one might have a bit more water along with a greater impact on the towns along the river.

This may sound dumb, does Travis immediately go into flood pool if it exceeds capacity or is there a "flood pool" like on lake texoma?

I don't think it immediately goes into flood pool, but I could be wrong.

Which could flood out many, many million-plus dollar homes on Lake Austin that are built on lots that rely on LA being a constant-level lake.

Of course, these are the folks who wanted and paid for the 50K grass carp that destroyed the underwater environment of Lake Austin and will now take years to rebuild once the carp are gone. So what goes around, comes around... in a way, possibly.

LCRA reports 350000 cubic feet per second at LBJ. The rice farmers are now free to steal all the water they want.

Wow...Travis has risen 16' since midnight, is 4 feet over pool, and rising quickly. This is really, really bad for those folks out north and west of us. And hoping the rain slows down enough to let them release with no harm.

Based on the LCRA report at Wirtz Dam it looks like the lake was 3 over pool. Am I interpreting that correctly?

688.91 that's 22' today. That's crazy considering most of that was after noon.

Prayers for all you folks up river. I guess the trout and redfish in the Colorado near Matagorda will be headed for the Port O jetties soon.
