Im not some kind of tree hugger, but after you watch them destroy the land everywhere they go for a few grams of gold bits it gets old.
They just decimate the areas they work and fill the rivers with mud. Leaving a big dirt whole where trees might not ever grow again in our lifetime.
That episode where they were ripping the top off a beautiful mountain was about it for me. The guys that dive in shallow seas for it really dont hurt anything at least.

Im not some kind of tree hugger, but after you watch them destroy the land everywhere they go for a few grams of gold bits it gets old.
They just decimate the areas they work and fill the rivers with mud. Leaving a big dirt whole where trees might not ever grow again in our lifetime.
That episode where they were ripping the top off a beautiful mountain was about it for me. The guys that dive in shallow seas for it really dont hurt anything at least. They had an episode years ago that showed a program where people come in and replant native trees and grasses where they mined. The way I understood it is when they are completely done with that land they are supposed to flatten it back out so either the mining crew or someone from that program can come in and repair the land.

Mining for igold is where it's at. Don't have to decimate any forests for igold either. You should put a pilot together for a new show. Sounds very exciting.

Drive out to East Texas and you can see what lands have been logged. The new pine trees will be in perfect rows equal distance apart.

Not so on the land side (not gonna speak to the dredging). My dad did this on his own claim for 12 years 80 miles east of Fairbanks. They were inspected routinely for return water turbidity.
Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.
