Anyone seen anything posted from zona about all the top guys leaving bass? I can only imagine Zona is feeling tons of emotion and kinda wonder what to do.
I have yet to hear anything from him.
Plus kinda funny how they invite Zaldain to zona live after everyone left. I would have told bass to stick it up there #%^
I’m ready for change in the sport

I’m ready for change in the sport Zaldain has been on Zona's show before this.

I have a sneaky suspicion this will be one of the rare things Zona stays quiet about... time will tell!

He talked about it yesterday on Zona Live with Zaldain... pretty cookie-cutter response. The only thing that was memorable was him saying how it's torn friendships apart and that he feels that since the anglers are making individual choices based on what they feel is best for them and their families, no one has the right to tell them that they're wrong for their choice.

I’m ready for change in the sport Zona's not a competitor on tour so there likely isn't a decision for him to make. His contract is with JM Associates as a BASS host and JM also films and maybe even produces his tv show.

Its still a best 5 fish limit, 4-day tournament, with the same fields, that airs online and on television. Some guys will make more money but some guys will still go unpaid at events they don't make cut. All-in-all I can't imagine it's going to feel much different to us. New host, new production, new TD, but everything else will still be a fishing tournament. Unless you don't like the normal weigh ins, that is something that is definitely changing. 5 fish limit on the BPT?? is that confirmed?

Not a 5 fish limit, 4-day event. Those events will be several days from what I've heard. The biggest key and what is really unknown is where it leads. I think the immediate future has minor tweaks that will lead to bigger changes. The only way it doesn't is if the public doesn't buy in and we go back to the same ole same ole.

I think you will see BASS marketing the remaining anglers like crazy going forward. Its smart on their part to do so. They have to pump up interest in who they have and not dwell on who is not there. They are taking the high road for the most part thats if they can get Mcginnis to shut up.

About all Mark Zona can do is toe the company line. He is in a strange spot. his buddies all left, several of his endorsements are in theory gone though BPS will still support BASS some I am sure. But this his other paycheck is the previously mentioned BASS and JM. Now if I had to bet money, when his contract is up, he will go over but that is just a best guess. He could end up over there working a lot more than he wants and decide to reup and enjoy his schedule as he has it now.

What are you expecting him to do? He's employed by BASS and has several DEEP friendships with their anglers, 99% of which left BASS for MLF. He can't trash either group and can just do what he can given his personal circumstance. I can promise you that if he were in their shoes he would have done the exact same thing as 99% of the guys on the TFF would have done.

May be tough for zona since the 1st two sponsors listed on his website are Bass Pro and Nitro.

Bass is gonna have to tighten their belt to win the long game. I would think zona and ole "gggg giant bass" will be gone. If nothing else never hearing that again will be okay with me.
