I fished Lewisville for a few hours yesterday, mostly in the southern part of the lake to stay in cleaner water. I caught a bunch of 10-12" fish, both on trees and brush, but couldn't find the big ones....except the two that 'got away'. Straight truth; I stuck two crappie that looked to be huge (in the water) but both pulled off before I could get them in. My only excuse was that the bites were so light (or totally imperceptible), that I didn't get a good hookset. Anyway, I suck. Also every 30 minutes the siren was sounding, and sure enough, they opened the gates at noon. Expect that the while lake will be muddy today.

Crappy Guy, I believe you I swear!
Serj5150 I caught a dozen, but only 4 Keeprs. the Bite was strange, they would only hit on the slow reel up. Not down, not jigging and not fast up, only slow up. I was west side, just before the mud. Jig color was White/Chart- first time using that color for me... they only wanted that color, and that presentation. water was not too bad West side.

The bite here on Fork is real light also. Been catching a lot of fish, still in 23 feet of water. They like it going down, but you don't even know there is a fish on. Watch for the slightest movement, and you got one.

The bite at Lake Arlington has been extremely light as well! Have not caught anything over 12" since all of the rain flooded the lake. The surface temperature was 78 on Friday, it had been in the high 80's to low 90's.

I'm not a great crappie fisherman by a long shot, but they were on fire yesterday at RR from about 2-5 pm. They were hitting hard in the south wind, once the wind died down you wouldn't feel the bite, just pressure, but 75% of them were 1.5 to 1.75 pound fish.

We need a couple good fronts to go through and it will make things better.
If it was easy, everyone would do it

We had 39 keepers yesterday out of about 55-60 fish. Fished south east side. Nothing bigger than 13”. Seems that the keeper ratio went down some with all the influx of new water. The larger fish will start to get more consistent as soon as the temps drop. They also start producing eggs and adding weight. It’s weird though with Lew. I catch tons of black crappie in the warm months and then whites in the cold. Overall more black crappie since I run more trips in the warmer months.
