I've been using 8# KastKing braid for spinning and spincast reel and found it casts a 1/24 oz or 1/16 oz. jig plus soft plastic a good distance, is sensitive to light strikes, allows good hooksets when used with a fluorocarbon line leader and doesn't get fouled at the reel. Best of all the price. Other braids are fine, but this line seems to outperform them and not get rough from many retrieves.
I tried using a reel that had 8lb test mono on it and was reminded of the difference: line sag when wet, poor strike sensitivity, less casting distance using light lures and many more missed hook sets.

Not anymore only because you can't bite through it like mono..I like the properties it has but not as speed friendly as mono is for me

I use 8 lb (2 dia) on some of my spincast reels. It works well but it tangles at the rod tip easily.

I use 2 lbs. Sufix Nanobraid almost exclusively, not to be confused with Berkley Nanofil (though I like that line, too).
2 lbs. Nanobraid is .001" in diameter, likely as strong as 6 lbs. mono, maybe more. No large fish munching on my tiny baits has ever broken me off . . . of course, I use my drag effectively.
It casts a mile for situations where long tosses need to be made.
I highly recommend it.

Use both braided and mono. Do a lot of down rigging and love using braided 17 to 20 pound test line.

I use 8 pound Nanofil with a 6 pound Original Blue Stren leader tied direct.
Best thing I've found yet.

I commonly use a 10# braid on a long spinning rod that I also use for drop shot bass rigs.
I find it "fussy".. but sensitive.
On my pan fish rod, I rig regular 4lb mono, and it's a lot less fussy.
