Hey everyone! I had a fun weekend. Put a trotline out at Fort Phantom and had decent luck. No monsters this trip but caught three nice fish overnight. I made a short fun video over my trip. I love catching flathead catfish but never have had consistent luck fishing for them at FPH. I always tried to fish around cover such as rocks/boulders but often times I would have nothing to show for it other than an occasional monster but this was rare! I decided to put a trotline out with live shad in an area I always do well blue catfishing just to have a good blue catfishing trip....but I was surprised to catch 2 nice flatheads plus a 13 pound blue catfish. There was no structure anywhere but amble bait for the fish to eat so I'm guessing that is enough to keep flatheads around yet not meet their love for cover?? I'm excited to put more trotlines out in similar areas that hold lots of bait and blue catfish that I didn't think would hold flatheads because of the lack of cover.....we shall see if I'm right in the next few weeks : )

Wasn�t too bad! I think if I can find some bigger baits to keep the 6-8 inch bluecats from picking on them I could get a big boy!
