I recently had a 6 acre pond built in Throckmorton and would like to stock it with the F1 strain of bass (tiger bass). Arms Fish Farm in Dublin says they can’t get them. Anybody else know of a potential source for them?

We stock largemouth bass and forage fish. Some other questions you should be asking: Have you tested the water quality in the lake? For $25 Texas A&M will lab test your water sample and send you back results. Have you added pond habitat and cover? Are you fertilizing the lake? What is your water clarity like? Have you already stocked and established a strong forage base of bluegill? 500 - 2,000/ acre (depending on fertility) In an unfertilized lake you can expect to stock *per acre*: (50) Largemouth Bass & (500-1,000) bluegill. You can double those numbers if the lake is fertilized. A well-managed farm pond should support 300 to 500 pounds of fish per surface acre. I suggest you read this: http://fisheries.tamu.edu/files/2013/10/...mendations-.pdf
