Still learning.... Was in a cove right before sunset week ago at Pool. I had already boated 7 smaller bass in deeper water, but wanting to find something bigger. Went back into a cove and saw a pretty big fish splash right at the bank. Saw this on 2 other fish as well as I went around the cove. All in 1-2 FOW. Threw shallow water crank as I moved around the cove and did get one more, but not the ones up by the bank. Should I have been throwing plastics on a t-rig instead. As it was getting dark, didn't have time to go around a 2nd time to try something else.

thx

When they are that active throw a spinner bait.
- smaller blade gold colo.
- Willow blade in hammered copper.
- Skirt in white/chart. stripe - Blue/Black Stripe and Chart./Black stripe.

I caught the other 7 in 15-25 FOW around structure on a drop shot and finesse worm. I'm pretty consistent with that, but I think the bigger ones are onto me as they have stayed away lately and catching all these juvenile bass. I had caught some up to 6.5lbs on the drop shot, but not lately. Maybe the bigger ones have just moved on. Every time I think I have a handle on them, boom everything changes. They were schooling on top 2 weeks ago, but only one night. Was nice while it lasted.

Frog or spinnerbait on the bank and eased into the water, fish that shallow are easily spooked.
Or it might have just been carp.

Big Red and corn flakes is my guess. I used to chase those hogs too thinking they were giant bass.

Whatever you have the most confidence in 1-2fow

I would have tried these in the following order
Frog
Weightless fluke
Weightless stick bait
Lightly belly weighted 4 inch swimbait
Buzzbait/prop bait
Small spinnerbait
Split shot plastic craw

Yellowmagic. Throw it against the bank and let it sit for a few seconds. Pop it once and pause it. Pop it a second time and pause. Work it with a few twitches and then real it in and repeat.
