It Depends. Are the fish reacting to a a jig or punch rig as soon as it gets through the mat? I would say it doesnt matter in that case. If the fish are less active and taking a harder look at it before biting, then it might. I prefer fishing fluro, so thats what I do, but you could just as easy run braid.
I dont do the whole braid with a fluro leader deal. Its another knot, and I don't care who ties it, one more knot makes the system weaker. Escpecially with so little line out, and a technique where you are having to really set the hook to turn their head to get them out of heavy cover.
Just what I do. 20 or 25 pound fluro.

Dirty water and around vegetation, use braid. All other times, flourocarbon.

Sunline makes a Flipping FC that is clear and has tints of green in it. Great for the spawn and clear water situations. I prefer flurcarbon over braid any day. I just hate using braid, personal preference!

I never really give the clarity issue a thought. I use fluoro mostly for its lower stretch, strength and the fact it sinks. I figure even if they can't see the line then surely they can see the hooks so for me personally I think the visibility aspect is way overrated.

What Fluro do You use. When I go that high in tess in tangles like crazy I like 20 seaguar red label, I like to use some KVD Line conditioner, it helps, especially when its cold with tangles.

I use braid because of the short distance , I can see the line jumping or moving , I use a dark colored sharpie to color 3 ft. of line from the bait .

I pitch on 25 XPX Floro.. We use it in Mexico's heavy bushes with no issues. You can pull the boat with it. It is as tough as it gets. The lesser pound test in XPS is not as reliable. There are others just as good. The reason I do not prefer Braid is it wraps around the rod tip and reel handles. If the wind is blowing braid is blowing around in the bushes causing problems there also.

Dirty water and around vegetation, use braid. All other times, flourocarbon. I agree with this. Except when I go to Falcon and flip bushes. Braid is a must in those Huisache and Retama bushes.

+1. No difference. It's a reaction bite. Not a drop shot bite for finicky little fish.

If you are not flipping or pitching to cover that needs braid I think fluorocarbon could help because of the sensitivity factor. You should feel more bites or subtle bites with fluorocarbon line.
