Another Simms ProDry users here - expensive, but you can find decent pricing if you look around. I looked at the Gill Tournament suit but it was heavy/hot - no good for Florida. I think all the "older style" Gore suits are hotter than the newer lighter Gore - so the 100mph/Guide series will be heavier/hotter. Guidewear Pro has the newer lighter fabric so would be better, but again the cost jumps up. BPS prob has something also. Didn't try Stormr or UA so don't know about those.

I have the BPS 100 mph set. They are so so and kinda over priced. In a soaker like Saturday and yesterday, I was really wet. Nothing keeps you dry in a torrential downpour. They are DURABLE and comfortable, but too hot in a warm rain. Kinda bulky, but thats expected. In cooler/cold weather they are great. They make a liner for the jacket, but, it must be made of unicorn hide, as I have NEVER been able to find one in a store or online. For that reason, I have a Woolrich sweater that I wear under the jacket in sub 40 fishing, making it even bulkier.

Id give them a 7+ out of 10.

H20 Xpress for me.. The only thing I hate about them is that people don't look at me because it doesn't say Simms on them.....

Does anyone have the Cabelas Rainy River Parka/pants? I have Guidewear and a Simms jacket, but like OP, Id like something for summer or warmer weather.

My NorthFace rain pants let me down last week. But Ive had them for a long time.

The Rainy River is a lightweight Gore-Tex. I wonder if anyone has a lightweight bib?

The Guidewear/100 MPH are too warm for some occasions.

In warm weather just get a $15 rain suit from academy. Keeps you dry and saves cash for more lures!

I'd look at the hiking/outdoor equipment. A Patagonia Torrent Shell for ~$120 and Northface Venture2 pants for ~$80. These are high quality products that are not made specifically for fishing, but will keep you dry and cool for around $200. That's about half the price of the specialty "fishing" rain jackets. Layer like the hikers do, and you'll do as well for much less money.

I've owned my share of expensive fishing stuff, and find them unnecessary. In the end, the objective is to keep you bone dry without overheating.

Some people like to buy $1000 golf clubs thinking it will improve their game. Spend $300 on a set and $700 on lessons instead...
Good Luck,
Tim

I have BPS and would not bother getting another one.... I absolutely hate the cuffs on your wrist they are extremely tight and un comfortable offer no adjustment. Plus getting the jacket on and off is a chore and if your not extremely careful you will rip them. I do not have large arms either so I can not imagine someone with large arms/wrist using this jacket.
