I know East Texas hasn't gotten the precipitation the metroplex has received the last seven days; but looking at waterdatafortexas.org; the lake levels from Athens to Bob Sandlin haven't budged an inch over the last week (and are lower than a month ago)

Or is it just going to take some more time for the water to reach the lakes?

I could post many more examples; but here's the data from Lake of Pines.
The rate of water decline (the downward slopes starting in September/October) looks almost identical to 2017--Looks like a yearly controlled release pattern

Makes sense, but we had a relatively mild August and did get some rain that month.
The ground hasn't been cracking this summer, like it does some years.

,,,,they do not "release" water from Athens and it has dropped 2 feet (at the boat ramp docks -- unscientific) since Spring.
as stated, not enough run-off to fill it back up to full.
The ground is really soaking up what rain we are getting in the Athens area.

Look at this map. It tells you everything you need to know. See the red circle in NE Texas? That is the center of where Cypress, Sandlin, Monti and the Pines need rain to fill up. It seems like every storm system over the last 3 months either dies off or goes around the area we need it.

The only drawdown Cedar Creek gets is from Ft. Worth lawn watering...

A heard they were going to lower Murvaul 5 or 6 feet to work on the dam. Anyone know if that has started?

No kidding.. I had three inches in the rain gauge the other day and not a drop of standing water anywhere.

LOP is water supply for several towns such as Longview Jefferson Diana and I'm sure there are a couple of more so with out rain it will continue to drop.

Here at Bob Sandlin we could step off our dock onto the boat early this summer - you'd need medical if you tried it now!! I'm currently building a dock ladder!!!

Murvaul is a couple feet low but it's from lack of rain. They haven't started on the dam repairs yet. Martin Lake is 3.5 ft. low and is getting a little difficult to launch.

Seems the rain keeps missing Fork. We keep getting drizzle.

LOP also feeds into caddo which doesnt have any means of controlling the height of the lake. Caddo has a spillway.
