Never fished the lake. What's it best known for bass or crappie? Bass fishing on that lake basically sucks...now if you want to catch some decent sized blue cat, or eater sized channels, or some eater sized crappie, it is a good lake to fish. The fishing has suffered in recent years because of the high water the lake sustained for six months or so. Killed off all the vegetation around the shoreline, which severely limited growth rate of fish and knocked out a bunch of spawning areas, as well. I basically stopped fishing it a couple years ago. I used to catch good numbers of large crappie, but since the high water event (Corps held the water back to prevent added downstream flooding) the crappie look anemic to the point, I just go elsewhere. Hope this information helps...
