Having been a life long Gloomis Man I find that I can no longer afford my addiction. I am in the market for 3 new rods and casting reels to go with them. I would appreciate suggestions, looking for a top water rod, a frog rod, and a shakey head rod. As for reels, I am currently looking at Lew's reels particularly with the TW sale on some, anything but Abu Garcia frankly.

I agree with 921 Phoenix and Smurfs. I LOVE my Dobyns rods, but I normally buy the ChampionXP label, vs. the lower labels. BUT, I DO have some Fury rods that work like a higher end rod, for around $100. You might look at those and see if they fit your needs. Hope this helps. Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I've tried the Major-Craft out and I love them, got them at Fun-n-Sun boat show.I will be buying more. Carlos with Rivera Tackle was selling them, and no I'm not on his pro staff. Just a very product and he stand behind it. Very reasonsable price.

If you're a Loomis fan then I would check out the Shimano Zodias. An absolutely amazing rod for $199 and you usually can find some deals on them.

Just a very product and he stand behind it. Very reasonsable price. Plus one on this. I just got three new Major Craft MS-1 rods from Carlos. Very light, and all high quality Fuji components. And at a very affordable price. I plan to get several more very soon. And Carlos is just a really good guy to deal with. He also has hard baits, soft plastics, terminal tackle, etc.

I own many G Loomis rods and prefer them in most cases. However, I am very impressed with aforementioned Shimano rods.
Also, other rods I own and appreciate are, Dobyns Champion, TFO, and St Croix Avid. All of which can be had for $100-$250 and have great warranties.
