Looks like one of our new batteries is bad. If anybody happens to be on the water currently, I’m halfway between harbor one and the island and could use a tow in to the marina. Currently trying to get back via trolling motor. It’s going very slowly.

I had to swim my boat in one time - me and my son -when my starter burned up

Can you not move the trolling motor battery to start the motor

That was my first plan. Looks like when we set the boat up for the first trip, tool box ended up in dry storage at the marina instead of in the boat.

Somehow, after trying for the last 2 hours, the motor just started. Whew. I had stopped making any progress. The wind picked up and was in my face. What a relief.

It’s the battery. When I got here it was dead (was fully charged 8 days ago). I plugged it in for about an hour while I went to get bait. Got it up to 70% and headed it out. I made a 10 minute trip to the island. Shut it off, and it wouldn’t start back up.

Not sure why it would already be bad. The boat is a 2019 and we’ve only had t for 3 weeks, but we’re going to take the battery up to cabelas tomorrow and have them test it.

While not very likely; have them look at the motor charger too. A poor connection, in that circuit, could happen. It was tight enough to make inspection and running it made the error show up. New doesn't guarantee perfect--though it does limit the number of suspects.
