So last night I fished with a buddy. He uses spider cut jigs I use more traditional solid color not cut. He kicked my butt. But I�m wondering if it was the style vs color. We were fishing at night. Mine was brown rubber with silicone strands his was all rubber had a little chartreuse in it and brown and red. My jig has worked everywhere but this lake so far. What says the Texas crew

I throw jigs 75 percent of the time and I�ve had days where the spider jig worked better. I think it�s profile looks more like a crawfish

I will try them I guess. I like he more solid color strands not the stripe ones. Never see a stripped crawfish. I use a jig that looks a lot like a mop jig. It doesn�t seem to work in this lake so far. Kind of strange

I use the spider jig 90% of the time 1-30ft and my best jig has 4 colors in it. Don't be stuck on just solid strands

I fish with and make both types. I was shocked, however, when I was testing both in my swimming pool this summer. The spider-type skirt looks so much more natural in the water. With a craw trailer, it is difficult for me to image that imitates a crawfish any better.

Agree with Branden, only jigs I throw that aren't, are 3/4 oz. Football jigs. Most crawfish blend with their surroundings, (grass, limestone, etc.), multi-colored skirts allow for matching those colors to trailers, for each lake.
