Ok, I know this is like asking do you like a Ford or Chevy. But I am looking to add one unit to my boat. I have a Lowrance LMS-332 on the bow and a Lowrance X-26 in the console. They came with the boat (Factory). I am looking to put a new unit on a mount to the right of the console so I can look at it driving or on deck fishing. I am going back and forth between the two above listed units. I want side imaging and down scan.
I am not trying to link anything or kill the units that I already have, just adding to them.
Opinions please... in basic talk, don't go too deep into the weeds. Is one really better then the other?

Go with the Helix 10 GPS-SI-DI and use this mount. You can see it from anywhere in the boat. I found it online for $55.00. Sells for $69 at BPS and Cabelas. [img] http://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics...le_swing_arm_mo[/img]

Helix 10 GPS SI and put it on a Balzout Mount and you will be set. If you so choose you can get a Transducer Shield for your transducer to protect it.

Helix 10 mega SI is best value unit on the market in my opinion. There are much cheaper units but what you get with the mega SI you literally can do everything

My last boat had lms-335 or 332 and HDS 8. My current boat came with elite 7s. This spring I took a chance and I bought a helix mega 10 SI and this week I added the helix 10 mega DI for the bow. A little learning curve with the menus, but nothing too difficult. The megas have an incredible image. Very happy with them so far. Humminbird Helix 10 Chirp Mega DI GPS G2N Combo can be had for less than $1100 now. My

So everyone likes the Humminbird... I went to Bass Pro and Cabela's both and was told the Lowrance is better due to easy of use. This really is not as easy as I thought it would be.

Nothing complicated. I gave two gen2 Lowrance 12s. I'd buy the Helix.
