Will be in Cabo the second week in July next year and am looking to do some blue marlin fishing. Can anyone recommend a charter?
Thanks

Danny, Sinkey has good hook up down there for 1/2 what you'd pay most places here. I'll PM him to contact you, they've been several times with real great trips, even a 200+ yellow fin..

Danny- My wife and I go down there once or twice a year. I highly recommend Pisces Sport Fishing. Try to get on the boat called the Tracy Ann. Others are great as well but that boat specializes in big fish. Weve had 2 striped marlin over 180 lbs., a blue over 300, and tunas up to 250 lbs. I recommend going bare boat and you bring your own lunch and beer. Its much cheaper!!!!! Let me know if you need any more info.

Check with Minerva's Tackle in Cabo. We have used them several times and they never fail to please. English speaking and full shop. They have a website.

Hey Chris Thanks for the info. I checked and they do have the Tracy Ann available for the dates were going to be there. I put in 2 people and bare boat was $580. Can you keep all of your catch and send back if you want? The reason I ask is because when we were in HI several years ago the charter was pretty cheap but they would only give you enough fish for a couple meals to take home. They made their $ by selling at the fish market. How far out do they have to go? Of course I gues it all depends on where they are running at the time.
Thanks,
Danny

Danny You must have been in Hi. During ahi tuna season. That is what they tried to do to us.

Thanks,
Danny We have always released all Marlins we caught. On the Tuna, Dorados, and some others we have kept. They give you a price that is separate and they will clean, fillet, vacuum seal your catch and put in a cooler frozen and deliver it to your hotel on the last morning you are there. And its pretty reasonable. One time we caught so many durado, we didn't know what to do with all of them. We only brought back 80 lbs. of fillets. The rest they kept to do whatever with.

The Blue Marlin is the hardest working crew Ive ever been out with. Weve used them every time we go to Cabo.

We caught a big blue marlin that got tangled in another line. The captain said it wasn't going to make it, so we decided to cut the trip short so it didn't go to waste. We took enough to feed us all dinner that night and gave the rest to all the Pisces captains to take home. A lot of them had their wives and kids come to the dock to see it. It was a very cool experience.
Danny, when I was there, we could see people walking on the beach while we were reeling in marlin. It was very cool. No need to make a long run.

The Tracy Ann is a great boat. I would also look to RedRum Charters. Nuevo Redrum is a killer boat and crew as well. Plus the company is Texas ran.
