Needing new tires for my 2010 1500 Z71. Pull a 21' Ranger loaded down with more stuff than I really need and a small tractor a couple times a year. Was wondering if I should go up to a 10 ply tire or stay with 4 ply. Looks like price difference is about $40 a tire. Is it worth the difference?

10-ply is a lot more tire, much more puncture resistant and will hold a lot more weight, they will probably have a stiffer ride as well.

In reality nothing you describe isn't well within the capability of the standard passenger "P" rated tires.

Seems to me like I usually get more miles on the 10 ply tires. I like to go with E/10 ply tires but its not uncommon for me to overload my truck by the tag on the door jamb and I drive where lots of thorny things live. If you haven't experienced problems with the current tires no reason why they wont work again.

I have Nitto Terra Grappler on my F150. Same thing, pull boat and small backhoe. Got 90k out of the last set.
