 Fishing Highland or Bratonia Park?

Drove over the bridge near Highland and Bratonia Parks yesterday on way to Clear Lake Park.
Area looked like had a lot of potential.
Was wondering if there is much action there or if the water is to low right now?
Wilson Creek and the Trinity feed this area.
How far north do you have to go to locate the channels?
Where do the channels run between Highland and Bratonia Parks and at the bridge?
Any info on kayak fishing this area would be appreciated.
