Years ago I fished this lake many times during that time it was a known to produce large Bass. I was in Canton last week for business; drove to ramp. I know you now have to go to Police department to get a permit to fish lake. ( where is police station?) Any one have any information about recent fishing in this small lake. Nice place to fish .

Police Dept: Just off 243 not far west from Hwy 19.
Do you actually mean the city lake or Mill Creek Reservoir behind the Walmart?
Regarding Mill Creek, I fished it twice this past early spring. I had my best luck at the dam, then straight across from the ramp at the lip of a cove. There are several TPWD fish attractors in the lake and you can Google those locations.
A fee is only applicable to power boats, not kayaks, just in case you are fishing from "plastic."
I caught a fair number of bass in the 2 lbs. range. Others, though, have had some good luck catching some larger bass. Not much vegetation, it was killed several years ago, but still a fun lake.

I bought a permit two years ago. The building was on the north side of 64 just east of the stoplight at 243 and 64.

Caught one of my biggest fish ever on Mill Creek. Oh wait, y'all aren't talking about foul hooked carp are you? (Over 30lbs!) Good little bass Lake that occasionally surprises with an occasional really big fish. Now I expect the "RIP Mill Creek" posts!

I went to Mill Creek two weeks ago and the fishing was slow. I caught a 5 early on a buzzbait and few small keepers on a wacky rigged Senko in the grass. There is quite a bit of it- hydrilla and coontail. There is some pepper grass in spots and the lake is about 2.5-3 ft low. Right after I said "let's go", my son caught a 6.5 on frog. We ended up with 6 bites from 7-1....good luck.
