Just bought a Helix 10 Mega and wondering what is the best Lake Map software for DFW lakes? Navionics, Hot Spot, etc. Suggestions/comments?

Many of the Humminbird ChartSelect maps I use are very close to actual contours. Good luck.

Do you mean the ones that come with the Hbird?

No, HB offers high definition maps for individual lakes. A single map for each lake can be purchased and installed on a SD card. Check out their website for more information.

It is called Chart Select. You install the Chart Select software on your computer to create an account. That is how you purchase and download a map to an Encryped memory card.

I prefer Navionics. The shallow water (you determine the depth) is a light blue color and the water water deeper than the shallow water is left white. This allows the angler to see the lake contours clearly. LakeMaster cards are very good too, however some dislike the way colors are displayed on the chart.

Went with the Navionics Plus South edition. Haven't used it yet though.
