Does anyone fish swim baits in deep water? like 20+ ft? If so do you use hard or soft (how heavy of a swim bait hook)?

Either...soft swimbaits require a heavy weight and unfortunately there are not many options....Fortunately we customize one of the best options in the Owner Beast Hook. You select the size and weight. You are not stuck to what the manufacturer makes anymore. Thanks RTC swimbait hooks

Define Swimbait, are you talking about Hudds and 8-10 inch Plus? I throw a 5 inch swimbait on a weighted jig head in 20-30 feet pretty regularly.
Thats my money fish Kris Winhold

I use a 5" swimbait on a 1/2 or 3/4oz jig head depending on wind and how fast I want to fish it

I caught a sharelunker on a 6" storm swimbait. We would fish them in 16-20ft in creek swings when it got cold. Fished them like a jig

I throw 4.8 - 6.8 Keitech's and some other paddle tails. Use weighted Owner Beast hooks 3/8 to 3/4. Lead golf tape and add a little weight and adjust keel also.

I keep a hollow body swimbait tied on all summer with a 1/2 or 3/4 oz swimbait head. If the fish are holding tight to bottom you can throw it out and let it hit bottom and slow roll it just fast enough to keep bumping bottom every once in a while. If the fish are suspended you can count it down and then just a steady retrieve. I've caught a lot fishing them more like a jig or stroking them up off the bottom and letting them kick on the way down. a

Hes in good spirits but still having hip trouble, I believe he has another surgery coming up soon and yes, he is one heck of a guide, hopefully he recovers and can get back out there..
