Besides all of the under water points, rock outcroppings and sand bars, are there any stands of timber or other hazards to worry about while running Texoma? (Yes I will watch out for all of the cigarette boats and all of the million dollar "salt life" off shore boats)

pretty clear running but I've only run from the 377 bridge to the dam I have not been north to OK, yet.

North is good all the way. Keep an eye on your nav chart and avoid the shallow stuff. Running the Washita East of the 70 bridge can be sketchy.

Worst part of running Texoma is the Spring and Fall winds that lay any plans to waste.

If you run the Red River side, West, the sand bars, on the West side of the lake), between the islands and the mouth of Big Mineral Creek, (toward 377 bridge from Highport Marina area), are very shallow and come farther out in the lake than your graph might show them to be.

Also, swing wide around Washita Point. Huge rocks just under the surface.

Yeah, no kidding. I hit a 'rogue wake' on Texoma that launched my boat completely airborne. I looked around for the Titanic but didn't see it.

I wonder how many props and lower units that point has notched in its belt, they do at least have some buoys out there but I have seen boats run right over the top of it. Another big time no no is not knowing where to run under the bridges, talk about a bad day if you try and run under the wrong opening, best to go under the main span.

The right wind gets blowing and it can get sporty for sure. You may want to watch that so you dont run somewhere then cant get back.

Good point about the two Oklahoma bridges. There are concrete cross supports just under water on certain openings. Use the main spans if you are not familiar with their locations.

All 100% accurate. My biggest mistakes ever made was not watching the wind. That was even in a 20ft bay boat. At times you can encounter swells that I have run in to offshore. At that point I said screw running this lake, I am going to jog it!!

Biggest hazard would be the wind. You don't want to be out there when there is a 25 mph wind out of the south

This helps a lot. I will mark the openings that don't have cross members.

Here is a photo of the east side of the railroad bridge. That 2nd cross member is just below the surface now. Like said above, if you can see one, there will be anothe just below the surface on that same span
